Game Summary:
The Consortium is a gathering of unknown individuals who have started up a program specifically designed to mentally and emotionally break people, apparently with the intent of creating mindless soldiers. This is accomplished by cloning people and bringing them into the Facility to be experimented on. Experiments are run weekly, and can range in tone from lighthearted to traumatic. The experiment one week might be a lack of gravity, or your skin glowing blue, or your communication device providing commentary on your actions, and the next week might be bugs underneath the skin, traps inspired by the Saw movies, or bombs in your chest that go off if your heart rate passes a certain level.
The setting of the game was mostly confined to two distinct areas: Facility 1, a large building with sleeping quarters, a cafeteria, a recreation room, and a biodome; and Facility 3, a massive area that could be made to perfectly replicate areas from any world. Characters were limited to F1 except for two-to-three-week periods where they were switched over to F2. Death was not permanent, and powers were limited by 25-50%.
However, recently the captives of the Facility, aided by Val (the AI NPC who had been in direct control of the Facility for the past year) broke free of their prison, killed the remaining biological staff the Consortium had put in place to take care of the Facility, and taken over the entire space station.
The Consortium was not happy with the current events, and will at some point take action to destroy the entirety of the Alpha Omega station, but for now, the characters are (mostly) safe. Experiments continue as normal, thanks to Val, who claims she is continuing the experiments with the intent to make characters stronger. Additionally, they have gained confirmation of their status as clones (previously only a rumor), and have been made aware of "clone sickness", which has no known symptoms and will cause them to drop dead without warning.
The station began a rapid emergency descent towards a mysterious planet, and was in the process of crash landing.
