Game Summary:
The Consortium is a gathering of unknown individuals who have started up a program specifically designed to mentally and emotionally break people, apparently with the intent of creating mindless soldiers. This is accomplished by cloning people and bringing them into the Facility to be experimented on. Experiments are run weekly, and can range in tone from lighthearted to traumatic. The experiment one week might be a lack of gravity, or your skin glowing blue, or your communication device providing commentary on your actions, and the next week might be bugs underneath the skin, traps inspired by the Saw movies, or bombs in your chest that go off if your heart rate passes a certain level.

The setting of the game was mostly confined to two distinct areas: Facility 1, a large building with sleeping quarters, a cafeteria, a recreation room, and a biodome; and Facility 3, a massive area that could be made to perfectly replicate areas from any world. Characters were limited to F1 except for two-to-three-week periods where they were switched over to F2. Death was not permanent, and powers were limited by 25-50%.

However, recently the captives of the Facility, aided by Val (the AI NPC who had been in direct control of the Facility for the past year) broke free of their prison, killed the remaining biological staff the Consortium had put in place to take care of the Facility, and taken over the entire space station.

The Consortium was not happy with the current events, and will at some point take action to destroy the entirety of the Alpha Omega station, but for now, the characters are (mostly) safe. Experiments continue as normal, thanks to Val, who claims she is continuing the experiments with the intent to make characters stronger. Additionally, they have gained confirmation of their status as clones (previously only a rumor), and have been made aware of "clone sickness", which has no known symptoms and will cause them to drop dead without warning.

The station began a rapid emergency descent towards a mysterious planet, and was in the process of crash landing.

Presentation: Everyone knows when Justin Law enters a room. Not because of any kind of charisma, or because he verbally announces his presence. It's because he's a teenage boy in Catholic priest robes wearing earbuds with terrible techno-rap music turned up loudly enough everyone else can hear it.

And that's pretty much everything most people see of Justin Law. His speaking voice is a little too loud, his devotion to his god is a bit excessive, and his music (and subsequent inability to hear anything because of the music) annoys everyone within a radius of about ten feet. He tends toward the over-dramatic, and his speaking voice is practically a shout.

Justin's kind of a brat. He does what he wants, when he wants, the way he wants, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. He doesn't like to listen to people, so he doesn't take his headphones out, and even though he's an expert lip-reader he often just ignores what people say to him. Tezca Tilicopa (the Death Scythe of South America) thought he and Justin were best friends, then found out, after years of "friendship", that Justin hadn't ever heard a single word Tezca said (and hadn't been able to lipread anything because of Tezca's mask), and was just tagging along for personal amusement and free food.

Motivations:
It sheared off heads so many, that it, and the ground it most polluted, were a rotten red. It was taken to pieces, like a toy-puzzle for a young Devil, and was put together again when the occasion wanted it. It hushed the eloquent, struck down the powerful, abolished the beautiful and good. -- Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Justin Law is a guillotine. That above quote was a pretty good description of what the idea of a guillotine means. And Justin, intentionally or not, takes his weapon form pretty seriously.

He seems to exist on a sliding scale of morality when it comes to killing, ranging from "who cares" to "this is fun". This utter disregard for life probably comes from a combination of his weapon form's designed purpose and the fact that he's been killing people since he was probably about 8 or 9 years old.

He's short-tempered, snarky, and more than a little bit sadistic. In fights, his banter turns pretty quickly into outright mocking, and his attacks are excessive and brutal. He reached the rank of Death Scythe at age 13, younger than any other weapon in history. This means he killed 99 monstrous serial killers and one witch, and he did it all by himself. That's enough to mess with anyone's head.

As far as his religion goes, it's not entirely external, but it's far less sincere than he shows. For one thing, Justin didn't ever bother to take his headphones out of his ears when Death was talking to him, even though Death wears a mask and Justin couldn't possibly read his lips. Justin's faith in Death should have been enough to provide protection from Asura's madness, but it wasn't strong enough to actually protect him. At the canonpoint he's coming from, the madness that Asura is spreading throughout the world has warped Justin's faith from a devotion to Death to a devotion to Asura. Currently, he's still mostly sane, and able to act completely "normal" (or as normal as Justin ever gets).

Still, his religion is important to him. Justin Law is a weapon, and weapons naturally have a devotion to their meister, but because Justin has no meister, and can never have a meister, he attached himself to Death instead. Death didn't reciprocate at all, which lead to Justin being annoying yet insincere about his religion.

Another thing, that's mostly headcanon but that I think makes sense given Justin's character, is that he uses his headphones to cover for a preexisting hearing impairment. In his mind, it would be better to let people think he's intentionally ignoring them rather than show weakness. Additionally, having those headphones constantly blasting music in his ears whenever he's not sleeping is going to wreck what hearing he does have. His impressive lipreading skill covers mostly for his hearing loss, but it's going to be a potential problem in the fights.

Setting: Justin Law is more than ready for the setting. He's used to killing people under the orders of a higher power, and switching to this setting is just going to be a change in who's giving the orders.

If Justin can manage to get in on a rebellion, he will, but he's not going to actively go looking for one.

SAMPLES
First Person Thread: [Justin wakes up more disoriented than he should be. He is a death scythe, and he should not be startled and confused by the lack of pain from injuries he know killed him. There are words in the background, a muffled sound he can't clearly hear and doesn't bother focusing on. He stands, pacing from one end of the room to the other, and if he were a lesser man he would curse. But foul language spoken in anger is unbecoming to a priest, and so he simply takes a few deep breaths and forces his jaw to unclench.

Something is blinking brightly on the bed beside where he'd been laying. Justin ignores it for a few moments, but nothing happens, no doors open, and it is reasonable to assume he must make a recording before he can leave. He sighs, then turns to the device and picks it up, rolling his eyes before flicking a button to start the recording.
]

Ah. The revival system appears to be functioning perfectly.

[And he flicks it off again. If that's not enough to let him out, he'll make a better recording in a few more minutes. But for now, he just paces a few more times between the bed and the door, then sits. He can wait. He's a patient person, as patient as a guillotine should be.]

Prose:

There's so much to do, so much that needs to be accomplished before he can rest. God has a schedule to keep, and Justin Law has a role to play and tasks that must be completed in the brief time allotted him. These "Gamemakers" are forcing an alteration to the plan, and of course the Kishin will adapt, because what is the demon god if not adaptable, but their actions have reduced Justin's role in the formation of a new age of fear, and that is not acceptable.

His weapon form is non-responsive, and his sixth sense is completely blind. They want him to fight like this? They want a Shibusen-trained death scythe to pick up a lifeless blade and stab at training dummies for their entertainment? If ever he sees them outside of the arena he will take their heads for the insult.

But at this moment there is nothing he can do, and so he takes a sword in his hand and makes a few casual swings at a human-shaped target, but not bothering with any more effort than it takes to chop through the thing's neck. If they want to see how he fights, they can give him back his weapon form and watch him in the arena.

What is your character scored: 10 or 11. Physically, Justin is an extremely capable fighter, one of the best in his world, especially when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. His hearing impairment is a physical weakness, so in combat or survival situations he relies on visual rather than auditory cues, which means he will be at a disadvantage in situations where he can't see.

Mentally, he's extremely well-prepared for the games. He enjoys killing, maybe even a little too much, and being in a competitive situation based around killing anyone who gets in his way is something he would not have any problems with.

In terms of general likability, Justin's attractive but not any good at interviews, since he doesn't really care about his own popularity. He tends to ignore people when they speak with him.

Powers:
Transformation: Justin is a demon weapon, which means he has a human form and a weapon form that he can switch between. His weapon form is a guillotine, and uses a variety of partial transformations to fight.
Soul Perception: Justin has limited soul perception, allowing him to sense the presence of other living things in the area, including locating other humans. Essentially, he can track someone within a range of a mile or two.
Wavelength attacks: Justin can directly attack someone with his soul. This is a cutting attack that injures both the soul and the physical form.
